It may seem, that Kopřivnice is only a modern town with prefabricated housing estates, but it is situated in the valley below Beskydy mountains, between Červený kamen and Bílá hora. Thanks to this location you can take only a few steps and find yourself in green places with a lot of beauties of nature. There are beautiful forests and meadows with rare vegetation. Very remarkable is for example Janík’s meadow, a small pond on a hill at the ruin of Šostýn castle, Raška’s observation tower or a natural sight Váňův kámen. From many places there are impressive views of the town and its surrounding. The best way to get there is via the Lachian Educational Trail. One of the most sought-after places is the observation tower Bílá hora. When the weather is favorable it is possible to see not only the Lachien Gate but also the whole panorama of Beskydy and Jeseníky mountains.
